Wireless Proposal

A wireless proposal gives a breakdown of the materials needed, how much the materials and labor will cost, and give the accurate timeline for which the materials are to be installed. This gives the customer the correct idea of exactly what is going to happen and how much everything will cost. Without a wireless proposal, customers would have no idea what was being installed into their home or business or how much anything would cost. This makes installation much easier for the company who is doing the install and for the customer. It is always easiest to have everyone be aware of costs that come up in the process.

E Commerce

E Commerce is electronic commerce. Commerce is trading something of value for something else of value. Whether that is money for a product or bartering product for other product. There is an exchange that occurs with goods and services for wither other goods and services or money itself. E commerce would not exist without the internet. The internet makes online shopping possible and companies can get their goods to peoples home quickly and easily with the click of a button. The internet has changed shopping completely over the last 10 years and now anything, literally anything, is available online to anyone with a credit or debit card or products that someone on the other end wants.Businesses can expand their clientele by huge numbers when they reach the into e commerce. More products will be sold and more revenue will come with that as well. 

Web designer tool / Kompozer

This lab that we did in class yesterday made everything come together it seemed. We wrote our HTML code and then designed it with a cascading style sheet(CSS). Yesterday we input text, links and pictures into kompozer and then published it into our public.html file. It was so cool to be able to see the work come to life like that. I liked when we created all the links in this lab. It was actually really fun and I am looking forward to making my own webpage.

CSS

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. It is a style sheet language specifically used for describing the look and the formatting of a document that is written in the markup language. When we did the HTML lab, we wrote in the language that CSS can understand. It translates the written words from the HTML and we created the styling and formatting in CSS in order for it to look more appealing. CSS includes fonts, colors, and layout and it is designed to help the separation between the document and the presentation of the document. CSS dresses up the original document and makes it much more visually appealing and easier to view the content. The same document can be presented in various ways depending on the formatting and layout of the original text. Simple editing can completely change the look of the document when it appears on the webpage. It was a really cool process to mess around with in the lab. 

HTML

We learned all about coding and writing HTML in class last week. I had no idea the extent to which HTML is written. I was so confused throughout most of the lab but by the end I felt I had a much better grip on it. It was really cool to be able to save the HTML and check it immediately on the internet.

Notepad ++ seems like such a simple application on the computer but it is pretty vast in the amount it can do. I was surprised that it took all those tags and applications and put them into a working HTML page.

Security

We look for security in many aspects of our lives; our homes, our relationships, our valuables, our identity, and the list goes on. Security is protection from certain threats. We seek comfort in knowing our things are protected against the potentially dangerous outside world. This same valuable security follows us into the online world as well. We need security so that our personal information doesn't get stolen and used against us. Personal information is easily accessed through any online site and if it falls in the wrong hands it is an extremely scary thing. That is why we need security in our real lives and our online lives.

Email

Email is a tool that we all use at one point or another. It allows us to easily connect with hundreds of people in a matter of seconds. Stores use email to connect with customers and vice versa. Friends communicate through email. Professors and students communicate through email as well. This video lays out the basics of how email sending and receiving works.
